IMJ, the society for integrative medicine Japan is newly established as an LLC, limited liability company under integration of JACT, Japanese association for alternative, complementary and traditional medicine, and JIM, Japanese association for integrative medicine.
Both directors and members of JACT and JIM decided it at their joint meetings on December 1 and December 2, 2007.
Today the medical world intends to switch to integrative medicine, which combines conventional Western medicine and CAM, complementary and alternative medicine.
IMJ is also started to meet such a new situation.
IMJ aims the following three major goals;
Certification and evaluation system are took over from JACT to IMJ as one of thier social works.
With integration of JACT and JIM into IMJ, the JACT certification mark issued by FFF, functional food foundation of Japan is discontinued.
IMJ and FFF decides to provide the IMJ certification mark newly.
New IMJ certification mark stands for the rod of Asclepius, a symbol of medicine or doctors.
IMJ and FFF intends to switch the JACT mark to the IMJ mark gradually.
