The sixth "Japan Jumbo Daikon Festival 2010" organized Jumbo Daikon Festival executive committee was held on March 14th (Sun), and more than 1,500 visitors enjoyed the festival due to clear sky.
Various plans to look toward "jumbo daikon" were in place at the venue, such as the free service of miso soup with pork, vegetables and slices of jumbo daikon, the tasting corner to taste raw and boiled jumbo daikon, the quiz contest to make a guess at the weight of jumbo daikon, the exhibition of entries and so on. Visitors also enjoyed shopping at open-air market, chance lottery and other events.
Mr. Kubo came from Kagawa won the sixth jumbo daikon contest with the 37.82kg daikon. The 16.49kg daikon won the category of grade school.
111 jumbo daikon were entried from the whole country this year.
